Chaos to Couture: Best Dressed at the Met

One of the most anticipated events in the fashion world has come and gone yet again.

The annual gala, which celebrates the opening of the fashion exhibit at the costume institute in the Metropolitan Museum took place on May 6th.

With an edgy punk theme, the red carpet was filled with studs, spikes and leather. Although some stars seemed to have misread the invite and played it rather safe, others portrayed the perfect look from chaos to couture.

Here are my picks for best dressed,

met13_3The first and absolute favourite of the night was Karolina Kurkova in a Mary Katrantzou one-sleeve mini dress. The Czech supermodel finished the look with a pair of studded ankle-strap heels. Perfection!

met13_2The next stunner who took over the runway was Sienna Miller, in a gorgeous Burberry dress with crystal and stud embroidery. Miller accessorized the dress with studs from head to toe.

met13_4The pregnant Ivanka Trump pieced together a stunning look. The strappy heels and big gold spiked jewellery accented the two-tone Juan Carlos Obando gown she decided to wear. Maybe not as edgy as the others, but she definitely caught my attention.

met13Blake Lively shied away from the theme with this Gucci Premiere dress, but the detailing and incredible black feather train was jaw-dropping. This look could have easily fallen into the punk theme with bolder accessories, but nonetheless, one of my favourite looks of the night.
