weekendBow Accented Blouse: Let’s face it, bows make everything instantly cuter. A blouse like this is the perfect look for an evening in the city. Grab some of your best coffee table books that you’ve collected over the years and let’s put them to good use! I found this cute square vase and deep purple flowers(fake flowers) at the dollar store; simply arranged them into the bowl and instantly had a display worthy collection to put onto of my night table. This quick, easy and quick fix will go that extra mile and really make your room pop.

OOTD: Dress Me Up, Dress Me Down

DSC_0009One of the best things about fall approaching is the ability and ease of modifying an outfit. Dressing a look up or down becomes much easier! This look I’m wearing above, for example, started as a more business-casual look! Running in and out of meetings in the morning I wore a pair of heels and leather jacket. But as the day continued, going to the mall and out for dinner in that outfit wasn’t an option.

DSC_0025I decided to ditch the heels and opted out for my super low-cut Converses and traded the blazer for this baggy knit cardigan. Both were really simple and easy day looks. Minimal jewellery in both – never forget any metal watch makes a little statement on its own.

How do you dress your looks up and down?

Cardigan: Urban Plant, Grey Tank-Top: Ardene, Black Shirt: BCBG, Shoes, Converses

Shopping for the Perfect Trench Coat

As always, the hottest trend for fall is a well-tailored trench coat. Know exactly what you’re looking for by reading through these key tips.

BROWN BURBERRY COAT

An important aspect of finding the perfect trench coat is the small details that make a major difference. This can include whether or not the coat has pockets, double-buttons, a buckle, or silk lining. My tip: don’t cancel anything out, just get to the mall with an open mind and try EVERYTHING on, and when you find one that fits and feels comfortable, make the purchase. Also keep in mind that the fall means bulky clothing, so take that into consideration when determining a size.

Mixing Metals: The Fashionable Way to Wear Gold and Silver Jewellery!

Look no further, here’s your guide to wearing all your favourite pieces of jewellery, regardless of the colour! Mixing metals is the new way to wear everything from rings to necklaces. So follow these easy tips to learn how.

The myth about mixing metals needs to come to an end. As we all know, trends come and go in the fashion world and the hottest fad in jewellery right now is wearing gold, silver and rose gold together. While the rumour used to be that mixing metals was tacky; when done right, these different coloured metals will accent an outfit rather than ruin it.

1. One “Major” Metal

The first step is choosing one colour as your “major” or dominant metal and allowing the rest to be used as accents.

If you love silver or white gold, and have the most of it in your collection, than choose that as a starting point. This way you’re comfortable with wearing what you already have and it’ll be easy to add some other colours on top of it.

Take the photo above for example, while all those silver bracelets look great together, swapping two of them for a yellow gold would be the perfect way to incorporate a different metal. It’s still evident that silver is dominant because of the colour of the watch. Bracelets and watches are the easiest and first step to take when beginning to mix metals.

2. Layered Necklaces

Wearing more than one necklace is a really simple and effortless way to mix metals. Just remember to keep it simple – the more delicate each necklace is, the nicer the overall look will be. Don’t wear statement necklaces together or necklaces with too many coloured gems and stones.

Top Five Must-Have Nail Polish Hues for Fall

If you’re like any other girl, you love matching your nail polish to your outfit, mood and the season. Sometimes these three elements don’t match up and the world of fashion says you cannot wear hot pink nail polish in November. But, maybe, this list will work as a guide of the top colours you CAN wear for the upcoming season.

1. Naturally Nude

Nudes are always a good idea – especially during the transition into fall. Finding the right one can be tricky but it’s just a game of trial and error. No matter what skin tone you have, there’s a nude for you. My personal favourite is ‘Tickle My France-y’ from OPI.
2. Blood Red

Reds, like nudes, can be worn all year round. But with red, as the weather gets colder and the sun sets earlier, the shade of red darkens. The trickiest part of finding the perfect shade of blood red is not being misled by the colour it appears in the bottle! Try ‘Take me to Paris’ by OPI.
3. Over the Taupe

Taupe is a great colour for fall – not too dark and not too light. It’s usually really easy to find a nice shade of taupe from all different companies. I love the way ‘Foie Gras’ by China Glaze dries!
