Make Up For Ever Lipstick X Sephora

Let me introduce to you the BEST lipstick collection available for all you beauty lovers. As you may or may not know, my make-up skills are extremely limited and while I try to get into it, I always find myself shopping shoes and clothes before stepping foot into Sephora.

With that being said, I still signed up for their rewards program which automatically made me eligible to receive a yearly birthday gift.  The gift this year included a mini lipstick from Make Up For Ever’s Rouge Artist Natural line – and it is to die for!

Not only was it a popular natural colour, thanks to Kylie Jenner, but it made it easy to wear everyday. I began using the mini sample and couldn’t resist it anymore. I walked into Sephora and picked up the full size.

10953931_10153060350864413_448317074710633721_n Now here’s what is so great about this collection –

A) It’s extremely lightweight and creamy, making it feel like a lipgloss versus a lipstick.

B) It has a great colour range from natural nudes, pinks, browns, plums, and even a few reds.

C) The shine it leaves is unbelievable. Your lips look flawless without the need of lipliner or a clear gloss finish.

The shade specifically shown above is N9 – here’s a look of it on me…

As you can see, a perfect finish, making my lips look extra plump, shiny and smooth! For anyone looking for a new lipstick definitely give this collection a try here. And if you’re a matte lover they have a collection called Rouge Artist Intense – featuring almost the same colour scheme.

Mixing Metals: The Fashionable Way to Wear Gold and Silver Jewellery!

Look no further, here’s your guide to wearing all your favourite pieces of jewellery, regardless of the colour! Mixing metals is the new way to wear everything from rings to necklaces. So follow these easy tips to learn how.

The myth about mixing metals needs to come to an end. As we all know, trends come and go in the fashion world and the hottest fad in jewellery right now is wearing gold, silver and rose gold together. While the rumour used to be that mixing metals was tacky; when done right, these different coloured metals will accent an outfit rather than ruin it.

1. One “Major” Metal

The first step is choosing one colour as your “major” or dominant metal and allowing the rest to be used as accents.

If you love silver or white gold, and have the most of it in your collection, than choose that as a starting point. This way you’re comfortable with wearing what you already have and it’ll be easy to add some other colours on top of it.

Take the photo above for example, while all those silver bracelets look great together, swapping two of them for a yellow gold would be the perfect way to incorporate a different metal. It’s still evident that silver is dominant because of the colour of the watch. Bracelets and watches are the easiest and first step to take when beginning to mix metals.

2. Layered Necklaces

Wearing more than one necklace is a really simple and effortless way to mix metals. Just remember to keep it simple – the more delicate each necklace is, the nicer the overall look will be. Don’t wear statement necklaces together or necklaces with too many coloured gems and stones.

Must-Have Bags in your 20s

Nothing makes an outfit more fashion forward than great shoes and an even better purse. As you transition into the next big chapter of your life, your fashion choices will change. These top five purses are essential pieces every girl in her twenty’s should have in her closet!

Busniess Birkin

Your early twenty’s means you’ve finally finished school and are entering the business world and nothing says businesswoman better than a Hermés Birkin. Classy, structured and durable for those commutes to the city, this purse will make a statement and go great with any outfit. Although most people opt-out for a colourful Birkin, I’d stick to a more neutral colour, like brown, beige, black or white. Don’t worry, you’re only twenty-something, the next one you buy can be any colour you desire!

Everyday Tote

So you’re in a hurry on a Saturday morning running all the errands you skipped out on during the week and you don’t need a purse with a lot of zippers and pockets slowing you down. An everyday tote is a must-have for all your busy days. The open concept and simplicity will make it easy to find everything you need without ruining that fresh manicure.

Classy Clutch

The greatest thing about being in your twenty’s is the freedom without the heavy load of responsibility! It’s a time to have fun with your closest girlfriends and go on a lot of dates until you find “the one” (if that still exists). Nonetheless, you will always need a simple, yet classic clutch and what’s more chic than Chanel?

Pearls on a School Night

Fellow fashionistas.. if you haven’t been into your local Zara please do so now!! They’re having their semi-annual sale and everything is selling quick. When I saw this pearl accented sweater, with great button detailing down the back I fell in love instantly.

I paired the sweater with classic black tights (also from Zara) and these Franco Sarto heeled boots. I also kept all jewellery simple, trying to keep the focus on the pearl necklace lining.

Nothing better than looking and feeling great when you’re stuck at school for three hours on a Tuesday night.

Till next time,

OOTD: Houndstooth and Mustard Yellow

Nothing beats the feeling of taking off the tags on a new purchase and wearing it for the first time. I got the chance to do that twice with today’s outfit.

I’ve always loved the preppy look  of houndstooth print and how beautifully chic the mustard yellow cardigan makes the entire outfit look. And even though Pantone named radiant orchid as colour of the year for 2014, I’d still pick this cardigan from Banana Republic to compliment this look.

Thanks to the gold-buttons on the cardigan and gold buckets on my boots, this look didn’t need much accessories.. so I kept it simple and just threw on my big chain necklace from Aldo.

Black Closet

I am so in love with this sweater from Five 0 Seven. For those who haven’t heard of the store, it is a Canadian owned, multi-brand retailer which brings in some of the most unique and high quality clothing in my closet.

My closet is full of black…sweaters, t-shirts, cardigans, jeans, leather, but I always fall in love with black again when I find something slightly different than the usual.

This sweat is embroidered with silver beading along the neckline, and accented with a asymmetrical cut-out on the back. I paired it with some classic black jeans from Zara and black leather booties from Aldo.

Ready for another day of university and Fashion Week in Toronto.

Never Look Back

Today’s outfit featured this ‘Never look back’ tee, which I accented with a pair of neon yellow jeans, low-rise converses, a cardigan and some gold accessories. It’s always fun to dress up a simple t-shirt and make it stand out more! I love the saying on the top; to persevere and keep going straight for your goals and dreams!!

This ootd was comfortable and perfect for the season’s crazy weather!!
