OOTD: Hello Spring!

Warm weather is finally here and I couldn’t be happier. The dreadfully long winter here in Toronto has come to an end and it’s beginning to feel a lot like spring.

Last weekend I switched between seasonal wardrobes (never enough closet space for everything all year long) and dug up my spring/summer clothes. Needless to say, I NEED to go shopping for a few key essential pieces to add to my closet for this season but I’m so glad to finally be wearing bright colours, like I did yesterday. Check it out…

IMG_9171If you haven’t put two and two together, I love colour-blocking and gold accents! The whole green and pink combo might just be one of my favourites, I feel like they always look so classy together.

And maybe I haven’t gotten the memo about whether gold chain necklaces are in or out, but as long as I can find a chic outfit that works with it, I will continue wearing them; I love how quickly a thick gold chained necklace heightens a look overall.

With love always,

OOTD: Chic and Proper

Sometimes it’s nice to forget the current “trends” and just wear something that speaks to you. While the craze for sportswear is continuously growing in the fashion world, I’ve decided to give it a rest for a bit and get back to some basics.

The important thing to remember with an outfit like this, is to focus on the details. I added some great silver rings and earrings to complete the look.

Nothing welcomes Spring better than a great blazer and a nude hand-bag. Keeping in tuned with the current popular colour we’ve been seeing on the runways of Toronto Fashion Week, I finished the look off with great pink flats.

Late night posts are the best posts! Running around the city gets hectic, you need an outfit to match your busy days but more importantly your personality.

Which is why I wore this,

A simple white tee, an open vest, some gold and the final piece to the puzzle.. these awesome high-waist cropped capris! Not only do I love the cut but the colour is to die for!

I don’t know about you, but I don’t believe in the hair-tied/sweatpants thing, even if you’re just running errands. Look good, feel good!

Pink nails and floral print…spring is here!

Today I decided to wear on of my favourite tank-tops. There’s just something about bright colours and floral print that draws me in.

I kept the look super simple and wore a light wash skinny jean with this green cardigan. No access jewellery either. Something about this weather screams less is more!

Finished the look off with a pair of beige ballerina flats and I was ready to go.

Roberto Cavalli S/S 2013

Cavalli’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection, which the designer refers to as a dream, was absolutely stunning. A total of 44 looks took over the runway, each more exquiste than the next. The designs framed a woman’s body is a unique and constructed way.

The first looks were rather surprising. Very innocent and angelic all white outfits, ranging from perfectly tailored pieces to flowing embellished dresses.

The second set of looks introduced nudes and neon colour palettes. The same theme and patterns continued from the pieces earlier but had a very soft essence to them, especially the dresses which seemed to just linger seamlessly with the models’ body.

The 16th look carried out the rest of the show with the Cavalli signature designs we’re used to. Full of life and pieces of art more than just designs of fashion.

The detailing and embroidery in these designs resembled a feel of modern art deco. The outfits included everything from perfectly crafted blazers and suits, which are accented with crystals. Silk dresses with leather and lace inserts. Pants with purposely designed slits and dresses with specific cut-outs to draw attention to every curve on a woman’s body. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Cavalli collection without some jaguar and python prints.

The models ripped the runway with these exotic animal wrap bracelets and python printed leather handbags.

The shoes in this collection were to die for!! Gold-heels, gold-tips and statement buckles were all over the stage. Edgy yet elegant, these heels definitely accented this collection impeccably.

And finally, my absolute favourite piece from this collection… the Hera handbag in jaguar print. Take a look, Screen Shot 2013-04-25 at 1.22.26 PM

This photo was tweeted on Roberto Cavalli’s page and needless to say it has been added to the top of my want list.

OOTD: Sunshine Neon

Exams are over and the sun is finally out, but even on a gloomy day these electric neon yellow jeans will brighten everything up.

I love everything neon, especially during the spring and summer. Roll up the bottoms, throw on some converses and you’re good to go for the perfect spring, errand-busy kind of day!

Don’t be scared to mix colours as well, I’d never suggest a neon-on-neon look, but I incorporated some navy blue and topped the look over with a magenta crossover satchel.
